Laptop Program Service and Support Expectations
Kristin School
- provide an onsite ICT Support Centre for software and hardware support and maintenance
- provide a student laptop user guide and instruction on laptop use and care
- Notebook Acceleration Program
- in-class training
- provide a student accessible (intranet) website to check on the progress of laptop support and to see laptop support job details from the Kristin ICT Support Center
- From T3, 2004 - Provide eKristin updates via email of all laptop service job status updates inlcuding notification of service completition.
- ICT Services assists the Kristin Middle School when enforcing the Kristin Acceptable Use Agreement which all Middle School students sign and agree to.
Students and Parents
- report problems and issues to Kristin ICT Support as soon as there is an issue
- provide good laptop care and secure your laptop as per the user guides and classroom instruction
- ensure insurance claim forms are completed and returned in a timely manner
- ensure laptops are always transported in a proper laptop bag
- ensure student data is backed up on a regular basis via the CD+RW laptop features and/or the Kristin network
- ensure the laptop use guidelines are followed (see laptop handbook)
- follow acceptable use agreement
- ensure unacceptable material is not on laptops
- ensure laptops are always in a secure place when out of sight
- provide regular feedback on ICT program
